Special Friends Event!
Being a Friend of Monmouth Women’s Festival means invitations to special events at different times of the year, but for the first time this year we’re holding a special Friends’ Evening. On Monday 8th March at 6.30pm, Friends can attend a special preview evening for the Celebration of Craft Exhibition at Bridge Gallery, Monnow Bridge.
Monmouth’s Festival of Air
To mark the centenary of the end of Charles Stewart Rolls’ exceptional life, a fabulous Festival of Air is being held in Monmouthshire. Rolls, third son of Lord Llangattock of The Hendre, Monmouth, devoted his short life to every form of transport – from cycling to motor cars and ballooning to aeroplanes. Together with Henry Royce he created an empire – and a car – that is still recognised throughout the world. He died in a flying accident in July 1910. Support from Monmouth
As ever, the Festival receives lots of attention and support from our local community in Monmouth. This year, Girlguiding Monmouth is running a competition which our speaker Jo Salter will judge, the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is holding coffee mornings as part of the Festival, and the Bridge Gallery, the Great Atlantic Church Street Gallery, St. Mary’s Church and the Nelson Museum are all supporting the Festival with special exhibitions. Thank you to everyone who has got involved. |
